This unit of competency describes the skills & knowledge required to inspect, describe, and report the features and attributes of a plant for the purpose of plant identification.
Whether you are working to eradicate unwanted or weed species or seeking to grow plants for a particular purpose, knowing how to correctly identify a plant specimen will facilitate sound selection, allocation and use of available resources.

AHCPCM303 -This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to inspect plant specimens and describe the features and attributes of a plant for the purpose of plant identification and providing information to a client or organisation.
The unit applies to individuals who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work. They use discretion and judgement in the selection, allocation and use of available resources and for solving problems.
No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements are known to apply to this unit at the time of publication.
While there are no pre-requisites for this course, you will need to have sufficient English language skills to complete the competency-based training.
All participants must be aged 15 years or above on the day of the course.
Our Identify Plant Specimens course is a one-day course. Please view course listings on the home page of this website for specific start/finish times and venues.
The hours are generally 8:00am to 4:00pm, but students should refer to their specific course listing on the homepage of the Duff Consulting website for specific times and venues as this can sometimes differ to meet client needs.
ALL ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR WORK-APPROPRIATE CLOTHING TO THE COURSE
Morning tea, tea and coffee will be supplied. Participants are to provide their own lunch or purchase it on the day.
There is no expected home study associated with this course.

Successful participants will receive a ‘Statement of Attainment’ with the ‘Units of Competency’ listed above, issued by Axiom College, that can be used to meet legislative, regulatory and workplace requirements in their relevant fields of employment.
Duff Consulting charge $428.00 per person regardless of numbers and location. A 5% manual invoicing fee will be applied to any participants who do not pay online at the time of booking.

This course will be delivered firstly in a classroom environment to cover the theory aspects and then move to an outdoor area for completion of the practical components.
