Northern Territory – Chemical accreditation

In the Northern Territory, you need to have a licence to spray chemicals on land or as an aerial spray pilot. Moreover, under the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011, anyone who uses hazardous chemicals must have the relevant training. See below for more information:

 

Ground Spray Licence

In the Northern Territory, The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade administers The Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Control of Use) Act 2004. Accordingly, individuals who spray weeds for a fee must hold a licence. You must also get a licence to own a spray application business.

There are three categories of professional spray licences:

  1. Ground spray business licence – businesses
  2. Ground spray applicator licence – individuals
  3. NT aerial spraying licences
