Pest Management Technician Licence
In South Australia, SA Health administers Controlled Substances (Pesticides) Regulations 2003 and the Controlled Substances Act 1984. Accordingly, individuals who spray weeds for a fee must hold a Full Pest Management Technician’s Licence (endorsed for ‘Control of Weeds’). You must also get a licence to own a spray application business.

Schedule 7 Dangerous Poisons and Group I Herbicides
In South Australia, the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) limits use of Group I herbicides to individuals who hold a current statement of attainment for the competency unit AHCCHM303 Prepare and Apply Chemicals. This unit, along with AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals, is also required to purchase and apply Schedule 7 Dangerous Poisons. Our course covers both units.
